In his groundbreaking new book, The Love Quotient, thought-leader Chris Wise, reveals the secret to transforming your relationship with yourself and others. It was in that emptiness that he found his true purpose and embarked on a mission to share his insight with the world. When he lost everything and unraveled to a state of sheer nothingness, only love was there. In the darkest moments of his life, love was there.

However, Hoang does and excellent job toeing the line to keep these scenes sensual without feeling dirty or erotic.Chris Wise has spent the last decade understanding love, its many permutations, facets, and aspects. If you are not a fan of bedroom scenes, you may want to pass on this book. Obviously, based on the premise, discussion of sex and various intimate scenarios should be expected. The primary con in this book is the level of sexual content. Add in the family and friends who see the obvious truth of their feelings plus a coworker that feels entitled to Stella’s attentions, and Hoang creates the perfect storm of a romance that will captivate you to the last page. We witness Stella and Michael slowly fall in love with each other, all while believing the other can’t possibly feel the same. Both heart-melting and heart-breaking scenes fill this book. Her first hand experience comes through in Stella for an authentic portrayal of the syndrome.įinally, this novel provides everything you’d expect from a romance novel. This is unsurprising as Hoang herself is on the autistic spectrum. From her reaction to intimacy and any sort of physical touch to sensory over-stimulation, readers unfamiliar with this syndrome will gain a better understanding of how it impacts the lives of those living with it. Secondly, I think Hoang does an excellent job presenting what life is like for someone with Asperger’s. Even if her checklist says they should move further in a particular lesson, he does not hesitate to say no. His experience as an escort made him an expert in intimate situations, so much so that his easily reads the cues from Stella’s body and respects it. Yet what is most striking about Michael is his personality. He only works on Fridays, and his one night only rule is both for his own and his clients’ protection. He strives to keep his escort job secret and separate from his life.

Michael is similarly driven and self-aware. She maintains a keen self-awareness of her strengths and limitations, which is a laudable quality many of us should learn from. Her Asperger’s makes her a driven, focused and routine-oriented person. Stella is an intriguing yet relatable protagonist.
